11. 1974 Suzuki TM400
Yeah, we know. This is one of the most devastating motocross bikes ever released to the public. Suzuki’s TM400 Cyclone, a.k.a. “The Widowmaker,” developed a reputation for packing the most impossible-to-ride powerband into the worst-handling chassis of all time. TM400s may have been the catalyst for the term, “murdercycle.” They definitely kept the plaster industry afloat as scores of TM riders visited ERs to receive casts after heading out for a ride. But sometimes a bad rep is a good thing, and the TM400 is worthy of consideration as a conversation piece in your vintage bike collection, if nothing else. This is a 1974 model, so it isn’t as desirable as the orange-colored 1971 that is mostly responsible for the Cyclone’s scary rep in the first place. Even so, we’d take a run at it.
