7. Dyno Tires
We envy our Motorcycle.com brothers when it comes time to run a motorcycle over to a dynamometer to grab horsepower and torque readings. Those bums get to ride their test bikes right onto the chassis dyno and then sip a little espresso while the bike is being flogged, and then merrily ride a day, humming U2’s “It’s A Beautiful Day.” Our trips require making sure that the stock rear tire is exchanged for something that will allow the rear wheel to make proper contact with the dyno drum to ensure the most accurate reading possible. If you’ve ever seen a dyno graph from a bike tested with a knobby rear tire in place, you know what we mean. That said, our dyno tires are absolutely necessary dirtbike tools.
