You’re over in the corner, being all quiet, and it is easy to forget that you finished third last year in this series. How are you feeling about this year, carrying that experience forward?
Good. I think, if I can pick up where I left off last year, that would be awesome. I’ve put a lot of work in this pre-season, and the bike is in a good position. We made some switches this season that I am pretty excited about, and I am looking forward to seeing how those work out when I line up on Saturday.
Two weeks ago you were out at Sheep Hills [in Orange County, California], on a 20-inch BMX bike, ripping the trails. How does that help your skills on the motocross track, and were your sponsors bummed?
I have a better chance of getting hurt on a mountain bike than on a BMX bike. I don’t know, it [BMX] is just something that is fun. I think it helps me a little with my supercross riding, the timing and stuff, and it’s just a little escape, I guess, from typical training.
