It has been a while since we have seen some French riders near the top of the class. How do you feel about this year?
For me and Marvin to be French riders, it has been a while [in AMA]. I’m not sure. We haven’t seen a French guy on the track in the 450c [Supercross] class in long time. Hopefully, we can do good. Me and Marvin [Musquin] are very good friends, and I believe that he can be in the top 10, as me. I think this year we have all these good guys, and it is going to be a good battle for TV.
You’ve been out of the supercross game for over a decade now. What is it like coming back in the 450cc class in one of the most stacked fields we’ve seen? What is the preparation, what are the emotions going through your head and what is the goal this year?
The goal for me is to be in the top five like I was in the Nationals, [Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship]. That would mean to be here for the 17 rounds and to do the best I can, have some good battles. I think that all of us here on the stage can win a main event. I think we all have the speed. It is just [about] getting a good start. We saw in the Nationals that even the best guy, if he doesn’t get a good start, he can’t win. Like Jason [Anderson] said, our bike is pretty amazing for this year, so I am pretty confident of that. Jason is my teammate, and we help each other a lot. So, I believe in the team, and that is going to help me a lot for this year.
