KTM North America held a media conference at its Corona, California, test track today to announce the release of its 2017 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F Factory Edition models.
Both Factory Edition models benefit from the changes made to the regular production 2017 KTM SX-F motocross bikes, most of which are carried over from the 2016 Factory Editions. According to KTM North America Media Manager Tom Moen, the majority of the focus on the 2017 Factory Edition models centered around revisions to the WP AER 48 fork.
“The internal changes include a new rebound spring and changed settings,” Moen said. “The big goal was more comfort, better bottoming resistance and more hold-up. It was a pretty big change, and they [KTM engineers] also changed the setting in the rear shock.”
The 2017 KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition once again comes in Troy Lee Designs team graphics, Moen said.
“The TLD 250 was very well-received last year,” Moen said. “Again for this year we have the FMF slip-on exhaust on the TLD 250 and an Akropovic slip-on the 450.”
