Gas Gas has released details of its new Gas Gas TXT GP 2018 models, a special, limited run of machines designed to offer its customers an authentic Grand Prix trials bike.
The Gas Gas TXT GP 2018 models will feature a host of special parts not found on Gas Gas’ regular production machines. The TXT GP 2018 models will be produced in the company’s Salt factory in Spain, and will be available in 300cc, 280cc, 250cc and 125cc displacement levels.
“The extraordinary quality of its elements is one of the main symbols of identity of this ‘Special Edition’ from Gas Gas, an exclusive series that returns to the emblematic red color of the brand, mixing small brush strokes of black and white, to highlight still more its racing and sports appearance,” Gas Gas press materials stated in describing the TXT GP 2018 models. “At first glance, what stands out is the Renthal handlebar, together with its corresponding protectors as well as the red, high temperature resistant cooling hoses. Visible details that join others, which may go unnoticed, but are just as important, include the titanium header pipe and the new aluminum suspension [triple] clamps, elements made with the best materials and compounds on the market to help lighten the weight of this agile, maneuverable and powerful new Gas Gas bike.”
The TXT GP 2018 engines boast a new cylinder head with increased compression, Boyesen carbon reeds, a Hidria dual spark CDI and closed-core coil, a new carbon fiber air box designed to offer better air flow into the engine. Gas Gas says that the TXT GP 2018 models comply with all Euro4 emissions regulations. To help transmit the power from the TXT GP 2018s’ various liquid-cooled, two-stroke engines, Gas Gas has fitted a variable preload arrangement to the clutch that allows riders to adjust the clutch performance to their own type and level of riding by making the clutch action either more aggressive or less aggressive.
The Gas Gas TXT GP 2018 models receive a new Tech front fork and Öhlins shock absorber highlighted by their gold coloring. The suspension features new spring rates and adjusters.
