Troy Lee Designs’ SE brand of protection starts with the SE4 Composite helmet, and Troy Lee Designs offers the lid in this cool McQueen style in 1970s factory Gulf Porsche blue/orange colors as a tribute to late, great film star Steve McQueen. The SE 4 Composite features MIPS, incorporating brain rotational protection. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, a technology that allows the helmet shell to slide relative to the head. MIPS is is claimed to offer more protection against rotational violence to the brain caused by angled impacts.
The SE4 Composite weighs just 1425 grams, and it boasts 20 intake ports to channel cool air around and over a rider’s head before forcing it out through six exhaust ports located at the rear of the helmet. Other features include and SE4 Composite (Expanded PolyPropylene) chin bar that is designed to be lightweight yet offer plenty of protection, “Anatomical –3D” contoured cheek pads with an emergency release system for EMS responders and plastic visor screws and brass inserts for easy break-away during an impact.

Troy Lee Designs says that its SE Air Squadra pant offers a true-to-size fit with articulated contours to hug the rider’s legs properly. The pant material includes soft, 500 denier polyester mesh for ventilation and 900 denier polyester for strength. The SE Air Squadra pant is also double and triple stitched in critical stress areas for added durability. Oversized cowhide leather panels at the knee offer abrasion resistance in areas that contact the motorcycle while riding. There are also two-way stretch panels at rear knee, calf and crotch for comfort and flexibility. A ratcheting closure system for the waist and a sliding rear yoke stretch system help to keep the pants in place. The SE Air Squadra pant also boasts a durable YKK brand zipper.
