Video: Jimmy Fitzpatrick’s Amazing Airplane Stunt

Watch what Metal Mulisha rider and XGames competitor does with this airplane in the Mojave Desert.

Metal Mulisha videos has released this insane clip of team rider Jimmy Fitzpatrick pulling off an insane jump of a moving airplane in the Mojave Desert.

An undisclosed airstrip deep in the Southern California desert was used for the one-of-a-kind stunt. The plane was piloted by aerobatic pilot Melissa Andrzejeswki with stuntman Andy Lewis providing the tightrope-walking antics.

Fitzpatrick is an accomplished XGames competitor who began dirtbiking with his family in the Ocotillo Wells area of southern California at a very early age. Even so, his younger years were devoted to another gravity-challenging sport, aquatic high diving. It wasn’t until his family moved to a 54-acre vineyard propriety in Temecula, California, that he turned his skills from flipping into water to flipping a dirt bike.

Fitzpatrick’s stunt-riding roots are synonymous with the Metal Mulisha. It was on his family property that the Metal Mulisha core of Brian Deegan, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Larry Linkogle, Todd Potter and the rest of the team began to build jumps at Fitzpatrick’s property.

Fitzpatrick’s early freestyle competition efforts included the Spike Camp Crusty Demon Reality Show where he ended up claiming the title as the winner. He went on to become a full-fledged member of the Metal Mulisha family and has been flying high with the team ever since. He currently performs freestyle motocross demonstrations all around the world, and he has made a name for himself by performing some the biggest freestyle motocross flips in the action sports industry.

The video pretty much speaks for itself. While Fitzpatrick’s effort may look like the work of a crazy man, it is important to note that he is a skilled professional stunt rider and that this event was carefully calculated and coordinated. In other words, don’t try this at home!
