While Travis Pastrana may still be the king of dirtbike base jumpers, this stunt, entitled Insane Dirt Bike Base Jump on Moto 188’s YouTube Page caught our eye because it lives up to its name.
What makes this particular base jump interesting is that the unnamed rider doesn’t leave himself a lot of room for error. The stunt is different than the one that Pastrana performed when he leaped into the Grand Canyon many years ago in that to perform this Insane Dirt Bike Base Jump, our hero isn’t just riding off a cliff. He has to jump high enough to create the necessary altitude for his parachute to fully deploy–as if the mere act of launching off a cliff and into the atmosphere isn’t risky enough. Still, the rider pulls it off in fine style. Pretty impressive. Supremely dangerous.
We don’t know if one can truly ever possess the necessary “experience” to attempt such a maneuver, but that doesn’t stop daring souls from giving it a try anyway.
