Rocky Mountain ATV-MC Awards 2017 RMFantasySX Winners

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC delivers 2017 KTM SX-F motocross bikes to the winners of the 2017 RMFantasySX supercross fantasy league. Meagan Thompson of White Lake, Michigan, becomes first top prize winner.

PAYSON, UT (July 7th, 2017)–, the fantasy supercross game by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. Both the winners and their guests were flown out to RMATVMC’s headquarters in Payson, UT, to be presented with their prizes – race-prepped 2017 KTM 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F dirt bikes.

Thompson made RMFantasySX history this year as the first woman ever to win the 1st place prize in the game. Finishing the season with 979 points, Thompson came out 24 points ahead of Gragg in 2nd place to claim the 2017 KTM 450 SX-F. Dedicating every Saturday night to supercross, Thompson made it a point to never miss any of the races and to pay close attention to the practice rounds when she made her picks. She said she never second-guessed herself once she had made a decision, and her consistency certainly paid off. She beat out nearly 70,000 other players this year for the overall prize.

Gragg joined RMFantasySX at the urging of his brother and played for the first time during the 2017 season. Originally joining to play in a group with his brother, his nephew and several friends, Gragg started to do well pretty early on in the season. With a background in racing and continued presence in the racing scene to watch his nephew (GNCC and outdoor motocross racer Cody Gragg) compete, Gragg had a strategy of comparing practices over multiple rounds to see which riders he thought were performing the best. Like Thompson, he also had a strategy of making his decision and not second-guessing his picks. RMFantasySX became more than just a game to Gragg when halfway through the season he lost his brother and nephew to a tragic accident. When he won the 2017 KTM 250 SX-F, he set up the bike in dedication to his brother and nephew who had helped him get his start in RMFantasySX.

Just like Thompson and Gragg, any player of RMFantasySX has a chance at winning the top prizes. The game is easy to play: players submit their picks each week predicting the top five riders for each round – along with a wildcard that varies by position each week – and then wait to see where their chosen riders place in the races. In the four years since RMFantasySX has been on the fantasy sports game scene, no grand prize winner has ever won a weekly prize, proving yet again that consistency is a huge factor in winning the overall prize.

Custom builds were done on both bikes to tailor them to each winner’s specific riding style and graphics preference. The suspension was sent to Precision Concepts to be dialed in for each rider’s specifications and the engines were tuned up and fuel mapping set by Matt Jory at Proven Moto. Each bike received a complete FMF 4.1 RCT exhaust system for performance and power. Other notable aftermarket additions included ODI Podium Handlebars and Emig Grips, Tusk Impact Wheels with orange anodized hubs, Dunlop MX52 front and rear tires, and complete graphics kits by Attack Graphics. The bikes were finished off with multiple anodized Tusk components and accessories to give a factory look. Utilizing the manufacturing facilities at the RMATVMC headquarters, each winner was also able to have a custom design machined into a Tusk clutch cover as an additional memento for the race bikes.

“We are very excited to have the winning players take home a new KTM 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F,” said Christy LaCurelle of KTM North America, Inc. “It’s the motorcycle that won the supercross series championship, so it’s only fitting that the fantasy league players win the same impressive bike.”

“With our new race team riding KTM bikes this year, we were excited to be able to partner with KTM and offer 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F dirt bikes as the top two grand prizes,” said Dan Thomas, CEO and founder of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “It was another great year of RMFantasySX, and we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of the sponsors who have helped make the game such a success. We were excited to be able to bring the winners out to our headquarters and present them with the prize bikes, and we are already looking forward to the 2018 supercross season.”
