If you like watching great off-road racing action, tune in to NBC Sports on Saturday, May 24, to watch the ATV and motorcycle highlights show from round two of the AMSOIL GNCC Series, the Maxxis General GNCC from Aonia Pass MX Park in Washington, Georgia.
The NBC Sports coverage should showcase just how difficult that round was, as rain pummeled the course, creating a quagmire for the competitors. Conditions were so extreme that GNCC race officials actually shortened the race by one hour.
Despite the atrocious conditions, the race still showcased a great battle between FMF/KTM factory racing teammates Kailub Russell and Grant Baylor. Russell didn’t get off to the best starts, and he wasn’t in the lead for most of the race, but he excelled in the slimy conditions, and he picked his way past the competition for a big win. Baylor, who races in the XC2 Lites division, had to come from the second row, but he rode brilliantly and nearly pulled off the win.
