MX Sports Racing takes us on a statistical journey through the history of the RedBud AMA National.
The following is a list compiled by MX Sports Pro Racing:
-This is the 41st running of the RedBud National.
-RedBud is the site of the largest obstacle in American Motocross. LaRocco’s Leap, named for former championship rider and local hero Mike LaRocco, is a 120-foot uphill triple jump. The iconic obstacle has been giving riders big air for over two decades.
-RedBud has hosted a national during the 4th of July holiday weekend since 1978.
–
Ricky Carmichael captured seven consecutive wins in the 450 Class at RedBud on three different brands of motorcycles.
-Only two foreign-born riders have won at RedBud in both the 450 (Chad Reed and Sebastien Tortelli) and 250 (Grant Langston and Stephane Roncada) classes.
-Ken Roczen is the only rider currently in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to finish on the podium in every moto.
-In his first five career-starts in the 450 Class, Roczen has compiled an impeccable 1.7 finishing average, compared to Dungey’s equally impressive 2.4 average.
-Swedish native Fredrik Noren will make his factory debut at RedBud with Team Honda Muscle Milk as the fill-in rider for the injured Justin Barcia.
-Round five is RedBud’s earliest stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship tour since 2007.
