Former Junior World Enduro rider Diogo Ventura will contest the E2 class in the Enduro World Championship for Gas Gas.
Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Gas Gas has announced that team rider Diogo Ventura has signed a contract extension with the Gas Gas Factory racing team.
According to Gas Gas, the 21-year-old Ventura, of Portugal, is one of the great promises of the Enduro World Championship, and he and the team have committed through the 2016 season. Ventura will contest all the rounds of the World and Spanish enduro championships in the E2 class aboard a factory-backed Gas Gas EC 250.
Ventura finished fifth in the 2015 junior category this season. He will also contest for the Junior World Championship, in a category, known as EJ, which open to all riders under 23 years of age.
Ventura said he is very happy about his new two-year deal with Gas Gas.
“Perhaps, on a personal level, this season has not gone as expected and the things might have gone a little better, but on the team, everything has been perfect,” he said. “We worked together for a purpose, and I think we have the conditions and the bike to achieve success. I wanted to renew with Gas Gas, and I am very happy being a factory rider, and now I can only promise a lot of work. I will do my best in every race. I think we will form a real dream team for next year.”
