Defending FIM SuperEnduro World Champion and Red Bull KTM Factory rider Taddy Blazusiak picked up right where he left off at the end of last season by taking the win at the opening round of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Series at Ergo Arena, in Gdansk, Poland, Saturday.

Newly crowned GEICO AMA EnduroCross Champion was also in attendance at the event, making his debut aboard his new RPM/KTM. Webb took finished overall, while while his fellow American, FMF/KTM factory rider Taylor Robert finished sixth overall. When all was said and done, KTM riders occupied six of the top eight positions in the overall results, including four of the first five positions.

Webb looked good aboard his new RPM/KTM. A third-place finish at the opener gives him a good start in his quest to land a world title along with his GEICO AMA EnduroCross title.

Red Bull KTM Factory rider Jonny Walker turned in the fastest qualifying lap in the super pole sprints that determine the first gate pick for the first main event. Fellow KTM riders Blazusiak and David Knight were second and third respectively, while Webb was fourth and Robert was fifth.

Blazusiak and Walker crashed in the first corner of the first main event and had to remount and charge from the back of the pack. Blazusiak put together one of his typical superhuman rides and mowed down the field, moving into the lead by the end of the 6-minute-plus-one-lap race. Knight finished second, followed by Webb and Robert.

As part of the format, Blazusiak, Webb and Robert all had to start in reverse order in the second main event, meaning they had the last three spots on the gate. Getting off to a ninth-place start, Blazusiak once again slashed his way toward the front, and he was in third place by the second lap. Webb, meanwhile, had climbed from 10th to seventh.

Blazusiak was already challenging Knight for the lead by lap four, and he made a successful bid for it through the water section before going on to build a 20-second advantage over Knight before the finish. Webb and Robert both suffered crashes as they tried to get through the lappers and finished seventh and eighth respectively in race two.

Taylor Robert finished seventh in the last of the three main events in Poland and claimed sixth overall.

In the final main event, Blazusiak pulled the holeshot and led the entire race to complete a perfect night. Webb settled for fourth while Robert finished seventh.

In the Junior division, KTM rider Ty Tremaine secured all three race wins. The American rider turned heads in his first event winning each race by a large margin to take the overall victory.

The next round of the FIM FIM SuperEnduro Championship Series is scheduled for January 3, 2015, at the Erdgas Arena in Riesa, Germany.
