Weston Peick has signed a contract extension that will see him continue aboard the AutoTrader.com/Toyota/Yamaha factory team through 2016, according to the team.

The 25-year-old Peick was long-time privateer, racing aboard Suzukis with help from his family into the 2014 racing season, but his steady results earned him a seat aboard the Suzuki factory-backed RCH Soaring Eagle Suzuki team for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Peick went on to record numerous top-10 overall finishes, including two fifth-place finishes at Budds Creek, Maryland, and Unadilla in New York, to finish seventh for the team in the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship final series standings.

For 2015, Peick signed with the Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha factory-backed team to contest the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, in which he recorded two third-place finishes en route to 10th place in the final standings despite missing some rounds due to injury.

According to team owner Coy Gibbs, extending Peick’s contract is good for the team.

“Weston has been a fantastic addition to our program, he is enjoying his success and he just seems to keep improving,” Gibbs said. “We are thrilled to have reached an agreement to have him with us through the 2016 racing season.”
