Factory Husqvarna rider Russell Bobbitt is back from season-long knee injury.
Factory Husqvarna rider Russell Bobbitt is set to return to action, Sunday, after sitting out most of the season with a knee injury.
Bobbitt, a four-time AMA National Enduro Champion, plans to compete in the Little Brown Jug National Enduro in Union, South Carolina, and finish out the remaining rounds of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series.
“I feel like it’s been forever,” Bobbitt said. “It’s the longest time in my pro career that I’ve gone without racing. I’m excited to get back to the races; it will be nice to see everyone again.”
Bobbitt suffered a broken kneecap and a torn quad tendon when he crashed at the opening round of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series, but after months of rehabilitation, he says he is feeling strong after just a few weeks back aboard his factory Husky.
“I’m excited to race the 350 and actually finish my first debut race on a four-stroke,” Bobbitt said. “At the same time, we don’t have huge expectations. I’m just getting back into racing. I have a ways to go in getting back to 100%, but I feel strong and my speed is decent. It should go pretty well.”
Bobbitt’s teammate, Andrew DeLong is the current Kenda AMA National Enduro Series points leader and has the chance to give the Husqvarna brand its first AMA National Enduro Championship since Terry Cunningham won the title for the factory Husqvarna team in 1986.
