Pirelli
Pirelli has had lots to celebrate when it comes to motocross success. The Italian tire manufacturer virtually owns the FIM Motocross World Championship, having just clinched the MXGP title with Antonio Cairoli and Rauls Jonass of the Red Bull KTM team.
Pirelli’s Scorpion tire line offers several models, including the MX 32, which is available in standard and minicross sizes as well as a mud version. The dual-compound MX 32 is designed to provide excellent traction on all surfaces but is designed for soft to intermediate terrain. Its V-shaped block layout is claimed to optimize stability under braking and sure-footed grip in the corners. The front tire is optimized with lateral blocks to further enhance traction.
Pirelli also offers its Scorpion SX, which is specifically designed for supercross racing, and its Pro FIM, which is a street-legal off-road tire. Other Scorpion MX models include the MX Hard, MX Soft 410, MX Hard 486 and MX Hard 554. The company also produces its Scorpion XC models for enduro and cross country use.
