Ricky Johnson is an American motorcycle and automobile racing legend who needs no introduction.
Johnson still ranks as one of the greatest motocross and supercross racers in history. During his reign in the 1980s, he won seven AMA national championships and was part of four winning U.S. Motocross des Nations teams. His career AMA national win tally stands at 61, earned along with championships in AMA Supercross AMA 250cc National Motocross and AMA 500cc National Motocross competition. He was the all-time AMA Supercross win leader and would have likely gone on to win even more races had he not been forced to retire due to a wrist injury 1991 at just 26 years of age. AFter a stellar career on two wheels, he went on to even more success in the NASCAR truck series, SCORE Baja Desert racing and short-course stadium off-road racing.
Clothing and culture company Fasthouse has produced a new video, featuring RJ in all his charismatic glory. In the third episode of Fasthouse’s After Hours series with Sean Collier, Sean sits down with Johnson to talk about his national championship-winning motocross career, truck racing, life, and more. Fasthouse invites us all to grab a drink, kick up our feet, and enjoy stories from RJ that you’ve likely never heard before in the way that only he can tell them.
