Reigning AMA National Enduro Champion and AMSOIL GNCC Series points leader Charlie Mullins is expected to be out for 10 weeks.
According to a press release issued by KTM today, factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins was injured in a crash while practicing in his home state of North Carolina Tuesday, and he is now expected to be out of action for the next 10 weeks.
The reigning AMA National Enduro Champion and current point leader in both the AMA National Enduro and AMSOIL GNCC Series suffered a dislocated right wrist and ligament damage in the crash. Mullins underwent surgery yesterday to pin the wrist, and he will remain in a cast until early August, at which time he will have the pins removed. Mullins is expected to be be released to ride shortly after that, and he hopes to make a return to racing in September.
It is tough blow to the team, according to FMF/KTM Team Manager Antti Kallonen.
“This was an unfortunate accident for Charlie who has been on top of his game this year,” Kallonen said “We will do everything to help him get back up to speed once he is healed and continue to support him to the best of our ability through his recovery process.”
