Rockstar Energy Huysqvarna’s Colton Haaker got back on top of the Geico AMA EnduroCross Series podium at National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado, Saturday night, claiming his first win since the summer break and closed the points gap to championship leader Cody Webb in what is promising to be a titanic battle for the 2015 EnduroCross title.

After pulling the holeshot, Haaker battled with FMF/RPM/Maxxis KTM’s Webb in the Pro main event before Webb stepped up and took over on lap three, while Haaker fell into a second-place battle with Factory FMF/KTM’s Taylor Robert. After the two seesawed back and forth, Haaker was able to increase his pace and began to put pressure on Webb for the lead again.

Haaker’s effort was worth it, as he retook the lead when Webb bobbled on lap 12 of 15, handing Haaker an easier lead than Haaker might have expected. Haaker went on to score the race win, followed by Robert, with Webb easing his pace to land a solid third-place finish that mitigated his points loss to Haaker. Thanks to bonus points for both his heat race win and for setting the fastest time in Hot Lap qualifying for the main event. Webb heads to the next round at XFINITY Arena in 2 weeks’ time with a two-point lead over Haaker in the series standings.

Robert finished third, ahead of American Beta’s Kyle Redmond and Gas Gas rider Geoff Aaron. American Beta’s Max Gerston, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Mike Brown, KTM-mounted Nick Thompson, Yamah-mounted Eric Rhoten and Kawasaki veteran Destry Abbott completed the top 10.
