Hayden Mellross To Miss Phoenix Supercross

A hand injury will prevent 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha’s Hayden Mellross from contesting the Monster Energy AMA 250SX West round in Phoenix this weekend.

Hayden-Mellross-01-27-2017The following is from the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha team of Monster Energy AMA 250SX West supercross rider Hayden Mellross:

Livingston, CA. (January 26, 2017)–51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha’s Hayden Mellross suffered a hand injury early in the Main last weekend in Anaheim, California.

After a strong heat where teammates Tyler Bowers and Hayden Mellross finished fourth and fifth, Mellross was looking for another solid 250 main. Unfortunately, coming into the first turn, Mellross was involved in pile up and went down, and he realized his bike and his body were too battered to continue the race.

The week prior in San Diego, the young Australian turned in his career best ride in 9th (coming from 18th) and was looking forward to carrying that momentum as the season progressed.
