American Honda has signed a multi-year contract extension with Johnny Campbell Racing; JCR program expands.
Johnny Campbell Racing announced today that it has reached a new agreement with long time factory partner American Honda, extending JCR/Honda’s role as the official off-road racing team of American Honda.
Johnny Campbell’s association with Honda has led to great success for both, netting more than 100 race victories and more than a dozen championships. As a result of the new agreement, JCR/Honda also announced that it has expanded its 2016 race team program to include more riders.
Probably the worst kept secret over the past couple months leading up to the announcement was that former Kenda SRT/AMA National Hare & Hound Champion Ricky Brabec will contest the 2016 Kenda SRT/AMA National Championship Hare & Hound Series for Johnny Campbell Racing Honda. Brabec, who rode in the final round of the 2015 series for JCR, is already off to a good start in 2016, having won the opening round of the series on one of the team’s factory-backed CRF450Rs. And, of course, the Californian also rides for the Team HRC factory Honda rally team, having just recorded a top-10 finish in his rookie appearance at the 2016 Dakar Rally.
Team JCR/Honda will also have a presence in both the WORCS and the Big 6 grand prix series with new team member Benny Breck of California.
GNCC XC1 competitor Chris Bach returns to the team for his third season. Bach will once again contest the AMSOIL GNCC Series and other select off-road events on Honda CRF450R. Bach will be joined this season by GNCC XC2 by fellow North Carolinian Trevor Bollinger, who will contest the AMSOIL GNCC series on a Honda CRF250R.
With the announcement, JCR/Honda team owner and off-road racing legend Johnny Campbell said that the future of the JCR/Honda program is strong.
“Our over-20-year partnership with American Honda continues to grow and develop,” Capmpbell said. “I am thankful to the management at American Honda and excited about the future of the brand. I am very pleased with the team we have assembled for 2016. Each racer will fulfill a key role, and I have high expectations across the board.”
