Husqvarna recalls 2016 FC 250 motocrossers due to a connecting rod issue. Authorized dealers to replace the entire crankshaft, free of charge.
Husqvarna Motorcycles has announced that it is recalling some of its 2016 FC 250 machines for a complete crankshaft replacement.
The recall is to address what Husqvarna calls “deviations in the manufacturing process of the connecting rod” that “may result in early failure and fracturing of the conrod under certain load conditions.”
Husqvarna Motorcycles has issued a directive to is dealers to replace the complete crankshaft on affected bikes, which are contained to just certain frame numbers, according to Husqvarna. Owners of affected 2016 FC 250 models are being informed by a personal letter, asking them to immediately contact an authorized Husqvarna dealer to arrange an appointment for the crankshaft replacement. Customers can also check online in the “Service” area of the Husqvarna Motorcycles website to find out if their particular FC 250 falls within the range of machines that are part of the recall.
Replacement of the crankshaft ill be carried out completely free of charge to affected FC 250 owners, but the work must be performed only by authorized Husqvarna Motorcycles dealers. For more information, visit www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com.
