Husqvarna fares well in Tennessee with a podium finish by Nick Fahringer and a sixth-place finish by Andrew DeLong.
The following is from Husqvarna:
Husqvarna continues to re-establish its past glory at the top levels of off-road motorcycle competition by vigorously chasing AMA National- and World Championship-level competition. On the AMA front, Husqvarna support rider Nick Fahringer landed on the podium at the Rad Dad AMA National Enduro in West Point, Tennessee, on April 6, while Husqvarna Factory Off-Road Race Team’s Andrew DeLong had a tough day but salvaged a solid sixth-place finish at the flag.
Fahringer, who races for AirGroup Husqvarna successfully piloted his Husqvarna TE 300 to a strong third-place finish in the latest round and is also currently third in the championship points, just one point shy of second place.
DeLong started his day strong aboard his Husqvarna FE 350, and maintained a solid top-three position through the first four tests of the day. But a crash on test four and another on test five cost him valuable seconds and hurt his overall score. deLong was able to regroup and finish both tests, but not before he was relegated to sixth overall.
“We were gunning for the podium today,” Husqvarna Race Team Manager Andy Jefferson said about DeLong, “and it looked like that’s exactly where Andrew was going to end up. He was definitely on his game today but mistakes ended up costing him.”
DeLong was also disappointed at the final outcome.
“It’s definitely not the result we were hoping for,” DeLong said. “I was feeling really solid today and my FE 350 is running great so we should have been on the podium. The electric start was really valuable in getting me going after those crashes so I’m grateful for that.”
DeLong and the Factory Husqvarna Off-road Team are already looking forward to next weekend where they will be back in action at the Big Buck GNCC in South Carolina.
