Team France and rider Antoine Meo continued to dominate the International Six Day Enduro, (ISDE) in Sardinia today, with France remaining steadfast atop the World Trophy and Junior World Trophy leaderboards after the fourth of six days while Team USA again slipped back to third in the World Trophy competition and fourth in the Junior World Trophy competition.

The following information is from the FIM-ISDE press office:

FIM World Trophy
Meo was the only rider to remain in the top three during each special test. Behind him there were a few surprises, including a return to form by Italy’s Alex Salvini who has had a rough first three days in the 2013 ISDE. Salvini won two special tests and finished his day second overall, behind Meo. Australia’s Daniel Milner suffered some setbacks and finished fourth on the day, behind teammate Joshua Strang.

The day began with Meo finishing on top in the special stage “Airoh” of Vena Fiorita, followed by Milner and France’s Pierre Alexandre Renet. The order changed in the second special test (“FIAT Professional”) at Loiri when Salvini finished first, ahead of Renet and Strang. The Italian, finally in a good physical shape, left the leadership to Meo in the special “Brema Menichetti” in Mazzinaiu to fetch in the fourth one (“Bardhal”) in Padru, behind Australians Christopher Hollis and Strang. The penultimate special test, the “FIAT Professional” in Loiri saw Meo, Salvini and Milner on the podium, while Strang’s good day included a win in the last special test “Airoh” in Vena Fiorita. Over Meo and Renet.

Team USA’s Charlie Mullins had a rough Day Four, suffering multiple crashes that dropped him down to 19th overall and 12th place in E2 class on the day, his worst finish of the week and the worst finish among the American riders for the day. Meanwhile, Taylor Robert continued his strong run, finishing as the top American for the third time, with a ninth-place overall finish and an eighth-place finish in the E2 class, where as the first two days he finished fifth and third, respectively. Kurt Caselli finished 11th overall. Zach Osborne was 15th overall, followed by Thad Duvall in 16th. Mike Brown didn’t fare much better than Mullins, finishing 18th overall.

FIM Junior World Trophy
Day Four once again showcased the great talents of France’s Loic Larrieu, but France’s Mathias Bellino also ran strongly in the top 10, while a fight for third place continued among Great Britain’s Daniel McCanney (who completed the podium), Australia’s Thomas McCormack and Team USA’s Kailub Russell.
Team France shows no sign of slowing down in the Junior World Trophy standings. Team Italy remains firmly in second place, but slipped from 1 minute and 53 seconds to 3 minutes and 13 seconds behind Team France. Team Great Britain is third.

Team USA’s Junior World Trophy effort remains in fourth place after Russell’s fifth-place run today. Jesse Groemm finished 19th, Andrew DeLong finished 21st and Grant Baylor finished 26th.

Women’s World Trophy
It was another solid day for Australia’s Jessica Gardiner and her teammate Jemma Wilson, along with Swedes Emelie Karlsson and Jessica Jonsson. The Women’s World Trophy standings effectively remain unchanged with Team Australia leading Team Sweden and Team France.
