Kawasaki has announced its 2016 Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green factory-supported amateurs. See who is on the team.
Kawasaki’s world renowned Team Green racing program is entering its 35th year, and it has announced an eight-rider team of top motocross talent that will receive full factory support for the 2016 racing season.
The 2016 Monster Energy Team Green will consist of Ryder DiFrancesco, who will race a KX65, while Jett Reynolds, Nick Romano and Stilez Robertson will race KX85. Monster Energy Cup winner Lance Kobusch will focus on the KX100 in the Super Mini classes. Outside of the minis, Joey Crown will race a in the A class, Jordan Bailey will race the Schoolboy and B classes, and Hannah Hodges will race in the Women’s division. All three riders will be aboard Kawasaki KX250F four-stroke machines.
Kawasaki Team Green Supervisor Ryan Holliday is proud of the riders who will represent Kawasaki’s Team Green program for 2016, and he is confident that they will build upon the success of a program that earned the company 15 titles at the 2015 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships and 43 major AMA amateur championships in 2015.
“For 2016, we have an incredibly talented group of riders,” Holliday said. “From the 65cc class to the A class, we have proven winners, and we hope to continue their success as a part of the Team Green program.”
Kawasaki maintains that the Monster Energy Team Green team lays the foundation for its future success in professional racing by establishing a program between Team Green and the factory Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki race team that contests AMA’s professsional supercross and motocross series. The proof is plain to see, as current Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki riders such as Chris Alldredge and Joey Savatgy are former members of the Team Green factory program. For 2016, Austin Forkner and Garrett Marchbanks have signed long-term agreements to represent Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki as amateurs before they begin their professional careers. The plan is for Kawasaki and Pro Circuit to continue to expand upon the program and bring the best Team Green talent to its professional race teams.
Team Green makes its season debut at the Thor Winter National Olympics in Gainesville, Florida, November 23-28.
