It turns out that the wrist injury suffered by Factory FMF/KTM’s Taylor Robert is more serious than it was originally thought to be, and he will be out of action for a few weeks.

Robert crashed during practice last December and experienced pain in the wrist. Upon first evaluation, doctors did not diagnose any injuries and Robert continued to train as normal, contesting the first three rounds of the FIM SuperEnduro Series in Europe. Over the past two months, however, the pain has persisted. Robert went back for a second evaluation where it was determined he has a fractured scaphoid, and he will now now undergo surgery on March 3 to help repair the damage.

The surgery will cause Robert to miss the last three SuperEnduro’s in Mexico, Brazil and France, and he he will also miss the opening two rounds of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series. If the surgery and recovery are successful, Robert should be ready for the third round of the GEICO series.

The injury is definitely a setback for Robert, who currently sits in sixth place in the series standings, with 92 points. Robert finished sixth in the opening round of the series in Poland and backed that up with a fourth-place finish in Germany and an eighth-place finish in Finland. Robert finished fourth in the 2014 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, behind Cody Webb, Taddy Blazusiak and Colton Haaker.
