Unadilla 450cc Facts
• Unadilla was a part of the inaugural Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in 1972.
• Unadilla has some of the most uniquely named obstacles in the country like the Gravity Cavity, the Wall, and the Skyshot.
• With over 40 years of hosting world-class motocross racing, Unadilla is one of the sport’s most historic venues and was recognized as such when it hosted a “Retro National” during the 2009 season.
• A total of 13 different winners have stood atop the Unadilla podium across the 450 and 250 Classes over the last eight seasons – six in the 450cc Class and seven in the 250cc Class.
• The last six seasons, the rider to win at Unadilla in the 450cc class has also gone on to win the championship.
• Unadilla has been good to international riders recently in the 250cc class, with foreign-born competitors winning in four of the last seven seasons.
• Fresh off the recent AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s, some racers plan to make their professional debut in the 250 Class at Unadilla, including 2014 AMA Horizon Award winner and newest addition to the GEICO Honda squad RJ Hampshire, CycleTrader.com/Rock River Yamaha’s Luke Renzland and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Chris Alldredge.
• Ryan Dungey earned his 30th career 450cc class win at the last round, where he sits second on the All-Time Race Wins list behind Ricky Carmichael, who has 76 career 450 Class wins.
• There are 18 total riders, between the 450cc class and 250 Class, who call the state of New York home.
• In 27 years, a New York native has never captured an overall victory at Unadilla in either the 450cc class or 250cc class.
450cc (/250cc two-stroke) Stats
• The first race held at Unadilla was July 16, 1972. Gary Jones won on a Yamaha.
• This will be the 24th time the gate will drop for a 450 Class race at Unadilla.
• 12 different riders have won at Unadilla in 23 races.
• Kevin Windham, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, and Ryan Villopoto are the only riders to win at Unadilla in both classes.
• Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard, who won the 250cc class at Unadilla in 2010, will attempt to be the next rider to win in both classes. Eli Tomac, the 2013 250 Class winner at Unadilla, will attempt to do the same.
• Kawasaki has swept both classes at Unadilla on five different occasions. In 2012, KTM swept both classes for the first time ever with wins by Ryan Dungey and Marvin Musquin.
• Yamaha won the first two races held at Unadilla in 1972 and 1973, but has not won since.
• Unadilla has been used for Inter-Am events, Trans-Am events, and US GPs in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The track hosted a 500cc national in 1976, 1977, 1989, 1990 and 1991.
• Rick Johnson won his last AMA race at Unadilla on October 14, 1990, in the 500cc class.

• The first race was held at Unadilla on October 15, 1989. Damon Bradshaw won on a Yamaha.
• This will be the 25th time the gate will drop at Unadilla for the 250 Class.
• Guy Cooper was the first rider to win back-to-back at Unadilla in 1990 and 1991. He also earned his last 250 Class victory at Unadilla in 1991 on a Suzuki.
• Since then, Ryan Hughes (1994-95), Ricky Carmichael (1998-99) and James Stewart (2002-04) have won back-to-back at Unadilla.
• Kawasaki has won eight of the last 12 races at Unadilla with five different riders.
• Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin secured his first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross overall victory at Unadilla in 2012 with a 2-3 moto score.
• In the same year, Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen secured his first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross moto win, where he finished 1-6 for the day.
