Mike Brown Finishes Eighth at Sand Del Lee CMRC Canadian MX

Husqvarna rider Mike Brown continues GEICO EnduroCross break by netting another top-10 finish in the Rockstar Energy Drink Canadian Motocross Nationals.

A sizeable crowd and great weather greeted Mike Brown and the Factory Husqvarna crew at Sand Del Lee in Ontario, Canada where round six of the Rockstar Energy Drink Canadian Motocross Nationals took place. In the second of his three-weekend tour in the CMRC series, “Brownie” improved on his previous result and carded a 6-9 finish for eighth overall at Sand Del Lee.

Despite never having ridden the track before, Brown’s day started out strong when he qualified seventh. He started the first moto in sixth place and held the position all the way to the finish, maintaining a solid gap over seventh. In the second moto, Brown impressed everyone by grabbing the holeshot (beating Tyler Medaglia to the punch by two inches)! Brown held on to second place for the first two laps, and then found a comfortable stride among the top six. Late in the moto, however, Brown changed up his line to pass a lapper and got pushed wide, which cost him multiple positions. Brown went on to finish ninth in the second moto for a combined score of eighth overall on the day.

“It was a pretty good day, and I felt good on my FC 450,” Brown said. “I’m a little bummed because I really want to break into the top five. But we’ve been getting better and stronger every week. I’m really looking forward to improving on my result next weekend at Deschambault.”
