Pirelli, Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki Team Up for Supercross

Pirelli announced today that is partnering with the newly formed Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki (MCSS) team to become the team’s official tire supplier for the 2016 Monster Energy AMA 250SX West and East Supercross series.

While Pirelli already supports Pirelli also supports the Joe Gibbs Racing/Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha team and the BTO Sports/WPS/KTM team in the 450SX Class, the MCSS agreement marks the company’s foray into the the 250cc supercross class. Veteran motocross and supercross professional Kyle Cunningham will team up with rookie Mark Worth to ride MCSS RM-Z250s in the West, making the team’s competitive debut Saturday, January 9, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

Californian Jimmy Albertson is set to make his return to the 250SX class for the first time since 2009 for MCSS when the 250Sx East Championship title chase gets underway at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, February 27. Albertson, will team with rookie Josh Osby.

Mark Rodgers, Director of Brand Marketing for Motorcycle Superstore, said that the Pirelli program came about as a result of discussing with ALbertson which brand to select.

“When talking with Jimmy and the race team about a tire brand to partner with, Pirelli was of strong interest after seeing the increases they have made in developing their motocross tires,” Rodgers said. “We look forward to sharing with our customers how the race team developments transfer back into the tires we offer through the website for everyday riders.”

With MCSS, Pirelli has the unique opportunity to further refine its technical expertise for Suzuki models by receiving feedback from the team.
