With teammate Ken Roczen still on the sidelines with an ankle injury, RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing’s Broc Tickle heads into the St. Louis round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series with a golden opportunity.

In the wake of his seventh consecutive (and ninth overall) top-10 finish of the season, Tickle has a chance to pass Andrew Short for ninth in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series point standings. Tickle is currently 10th in the standings and trails Short by just two as the series heads into the Edward Jones dome, home of the St. Louis Rams NFL football team.

“I’ve had a pretty good run of top 10s and I think this week sets up as a great opportunity for me to finally get on the podium,” said Tickle, who made his Supercross Lites debut in St. Louis back in 2007. “I worked on starts all week, so hopefully we’ll have that part dialed in Saturday night. If I can get that good jump out of the gate, our Suzuki RM-Z450 has plenty of speed. This is a good opportunity to capitalize on all of our work.”

In his two previous St. Louis 450SX starts, Tickle finished 11th both times. He was forced to sit out the 2014 St. Louis round while he recovered from a back injury suffered at the Toronto Supercross.

Meanwhile, Tickle’s RCH teammate Ken Roczen is out of action for the fourth week in a row while he continues to recover from the ankle injury he originally sustained during round right of the series at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. According to the team, Roczen is still on a recovery pace to return for the Houston Supercross, April 11.

St. Louis brings back great memories for RCH co-owner Ricky Carmichael, who enjoyed tremendous success there as a rider. Carmichael earned four premier-class wins, dating back to when the venue was known as the Transworld Dome. Carmichael also won a Supercross Lites main event there in 1998, giving him a total of five St. Louis wins as part of his 15-time AMA National Championship resume.

“I always loved racing in St. Louis,” Carmichael said. “The biggest thing I always looked forward to was how good the soil was. There’s just something about the dirt in the Midwest that makes for a great surface and great racing. The fans are great and having a fair amount of success always made that race one I looked forward to. This should be a good track for Broc. He’s a Midwest guy, so he knows what to expect. He’s working as hard as ever. We’re looking for a good result this weekend.”

The St. Louis Supercross will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 Saturday, March 28 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 5 p.m. Pacific.
