Troy Lee Designs and Alpinestars have collaborated to produce the TLD Alpinestars Tech 7, a motocross/off-road boat that incorporates Alpinstars’ innovative comfort and safety features with Troy Lee Designs eye-catching style.
The TLD Alpinestars Tech 7 boot is claimed to boast innovative materials and technology for a lighter, more anatomically profiled boot. The CE-certified TLD Tech 7 has been designed to promote core stability and flex via a biomechanical pivot while offering excellent ankle protection. The boot chassis is engineered to offer a connected feel and interaction with bike controls, and its buckle system is claimed to allow easy and precise closure.
The TLD Alpinestars Tech 7 chassis features an ergonomically profiled forefoot and lower toe-box to provide easier shifting and improved rear brake feel and control. Its one-piece, injected dual compound foot shell incorporates a co-injected hard toe protector and integrated steel shank. The shell is designed to be highly resistant to abrasion and impact for good overall durability.
Constructed from innovative microfiber material, the upper is flexible and abrasion resistant, and the material is reinforced with polyurethane (PU) for water-resistance and durability while saving weight. The material is claimed to ensure consistent fit even for long term usage, and it is easy to maintain and clean.
When it comes to protection, the TLD Alpinestars Tech 7’s high-strength sole construction is desgiend to offer durability and protection. A contoured calf protector plate is injected with high modulus polymer for impact resistance, and it incorporates Alpinestars’ developed blade flex system for greater precision control and movement, and added protection for the heel and Achilles tendon. Alpinestars says that the system helps prevent hyperflexion.
A new TPU ankle protection system incorporates a biomechanical link between the middle and bottom sections of the boot, helping prevent damage to the leg by providing progressive force relief when torsional forces are encountered. The TPU shin plate and medial protection are constructed from one single part for greater structural integrity and stability. A TPU medial side panel incorporates an advanced honeycomb rubber insert and is designed for excellent grip against the bike. The TLD Tech 7 also features a dual compound sole that is seamlessly integrated into the base structure for superior durability, and it also sports rubber grip patterning and enhanced feel. The sole and footpeg insert are replaceable.
The anatomically profiled shin plate features a dual closure system with an internal microfiber flap attached with Velcro® for a precise fit closure while the shin plate is attached with a precision adjustable buckle. The boot offers a wide entry aperture for convenience and allows broad ranging calf fit adjustment and support.
Alpinestars has developed what it calls an innovative buckle closure system that includes high-impact aluminum bridge closures, with memory settings and a quick release/locking system with self-aligning design for easy, precise closure and improved riding performance. All buckles are replaceable.
Other TLD Alpinestars Tech 7 features include:
-A redesigned instep and Achilles accordion flex zones construction for superior comfort, control and support.
-An extended microfiber gaiter that helps prevent excessive water and dirt entry.
-Internal lining that includes anti-slip microfiber suede on the heel to help keep foot in position.
-Soft foam reinforcement on the ankles and collar for comfort and shock absorption.
-A new, dual compound, removable anatomic footbed that includes an EVA and Lycra top for comfort and support.
