2. Bruce Penhall
Bruce Penhall went to the British League to ride for the Cradley Heath Heathens team in 1978 and was World Champion just three years later. He claimed four (two individual, one World Team Cup and one World Best Pairs) world championships in a relatively short speedway career. One of the most determined riders of his era, he absolutely refused to give up. When push came to shove, he took no guff from anyone. A tremendous leader who all his teammates rallied behind and relied on. Had he not retired at 25-years-old, there is no telling how many world titles he may have won.
