Check out this Baja Rally highlight video, which gives viewers a taste of the Mexican rally raid.
Bajarallymoto.com has released this “Baja Rally 2.0-Dakar Style Racing In Baja California” promo video to showcase the rally raid style event that enjoyed a second successful running in September.
The four-minute video is intended to spread the word about the event, offering viewers highlights of the first roadbook navigation rally competition for motorcycles in Mexico, which was held Sept 24-28 2014. Narrated by AMA Hall of Fame announcer Larry Huffman, the video gives a glimpse into the beauty and the challenge of the terrain the competitors witness during the four-day event.
Modeled after the world famous Dakar Rally the Baja Rally forces riders to navigate and find their own way to the finish of a secret course each day before rendezvousing with teams and officials at a unique location each afternoon. According the promoters, the Baja Rally visits multiple locations with historic and cultural value.
Former Dakar Rally competitor Scott Bright rode a Rally Management Services KTM to this year’s win, finishing ahead of more experienced Baja competitors such as inaugural winner Andy Grider, Steve Hengeveld Nino Rojas and Chilly White. Bright finished with a total time of 13 hours, 36 minutes and 17 seconds. First-time rally racer Charles Jirsa won the Rally 1 class and earned the “Rookie of the Rally” honors while finishing sixth overall.
